When I came to the US I was shocked to discover ice cream floats, not because I thought they were good, but because I thought they were terrible! So much sugar, so much sweetness… Years later I’ve still not gotten used to them, with one exception, coffee floats.
I make mine following the Noble Coyote cold brew coffee recipe and I think it’s delicious.
Ready to make it? Here’s what you’ll need to do:
Add coffee to brewing vessel. Add 5.5 cups of filtered water to the coffee Agitate with a flat spoon or paddle making sure all coffee becomes saturated Continue to agitate periodically for approximately 5 minute until no crust forms between agitations Steep for 14-18 hours (as desired for flavor and strength) Remove grounds and let drain, do not squeeze Dilute resulting concentration to a total volume of 10 cups
I like to sweeten my coffee, I top it off with crema gelato or fior di latte. It’s delicious from beggining to end because as the gelato melts it mixes nicely with the coffee. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
